Can you really change the world "one lazy-assed mouse click at a time"? The Nag have made it their mission to take a step towards fighting apathy and get even the laziest of us making small changes to benefit the environment and other people. They do this by posting a new "nag" every month - an e-mail invitation to visit the site and complete a task, which involves a bit of mouse clicking and perhaps a little bit of typing.
The site has a nag archive, so you can catch up and do nags from previous months. As I said before, guilt is so not a good look, so the first I completed was "The Rag Nag", which involved nagging my favourite clothes company to make my clothes guilt-free. All I had to do was select a company from the drop-down list, check boxes for the questions I wanted to ask, and then hit send. It took all of two minutes.
The Nag is a UK-specific site, but if you want to participate in The Rag Nag and contact a company in your own country, you can select Other in the drop-down menu. It will generate your letter so all you have to do is search for an contact e-mail online and then e-mail it to that address yourself.
They give a "Crap prize of the month" to random members, which is something tacky found in a charity shop. So far this has included a German Asparagus Peeler and a Two Kitties and A Clock ceramic clock, which is particularly delightful. Charity shops are wonderful, but they do contain a lot of stuff that makes me wonder why it was ever made. A few other examples: Pop Idol albums, Steps albums, Bob The Builder singles, Paris Hilton's "autobiography"...I could go on, but I'd prefer just to nag you to go nag. As they say on their referral page, "To Nag is To Love...", so go nag!
Little adminy note - I accidentally turned off the comments on the last post (stitching up daisies) at some point today and realised and fixed it just now. If you wanted to leave a comment before but couldn't, you can go do so now!
